Travelling

School starts for me tomorrow.  In the course of a year I lead a bipolar existence.  During the school year my life is centered on teaching and all that it entails.  I try to squeeze some personal time in there, but it is not always easy.  During summer I take care of personal business, with a bit of school on the side.

This summer I made two trips north.  I saw three loons on a lake.  I put my toes in the northern Atlantic.  I slept with the windows open.  I was cold without the aid of A/C.  I ate bagels, fresh bagels.  I went to church in four different states. I saw sunrises and sunsets.  I spent time with my husband, my children, my siblings, my Mom.  I spent a great deal of time at my own home.  What a wonderful summer.

My alarm is set for tomorrow.  Hi-ho, it's off to work I go.  Some things have changed at my school. I am looking forward to the alarm going off tomorrow.  It will be good to see my school family and getting to work.  Oh, don't worry, there will be time for personal things, and plenty of time for me spend at my own home, too.

Book Quilt for my friend, the Library Media Specialist

See if you can identify the book titles that are suggested by these quilt blocks.

1. This one required some hand stitching.  Any guesses?

2.  Oh, you know this one...

3.  Once upon a midnight dreary....

4.  More than a pair of fine eyes...

5.   One from my ninth grade year...

6.  What do you think?

7.  I think you can get this one.

8.  Been on the ninth grade reading list for centuries.

9.  Don't ignore the background...

10.  Several hints on this one.

11.  Easy?  Yes or No?

12.  Again, the ninth grade reading list...

13.  I think you probably have read this one...

14.  Well?

15.  Could be one of a couple.

16.  Hmmmmm.

17.  A dark one...

18.  Not really an AU Tiger.

19.  The last one, really.

Now, I need to narrow the list down to sixteen to make the quilt top.

Good Day to Start a Blog

Summer is the most glorious time.  I teach for nine months but I feel the summer months are the most productive.

I spend time cleaning off the horizontal surfaces in my house.  I travel to see family and friends.  I read books.  I try new recipes.  I sew, sew, sew.
